Read on for my full reviews of these Vitacost food diet items!

First off, I ate all of these in my office on campus. I spend 2 full days a week on campus doing research for my PhD and I need snacks! My reasoning for bringing in my own food is threefold:

1. I'm trying to save money by bringing my own foods to campus and not buying the insanely expensive $7 sandwiches from the campus coffee shop near my building.

2. I often don't want to spend the time to go buy food elsewhere. Because I'm a student and a parent, my time on campus is very precious.

3. Foods I bring from home are often much healthier than foods I might buy eating out. This is especially true of these snacks that I received from Vitacost, which support a healthy food diet. They are healthy and filling!

I really loved the Woodstock Farms Almond Slices as a snack. They are slivered almonds that are not roasted or salted. In fact, the only ingredient is almonds. They were so sweet and delicious--just all around a really wonderful and healthy crunchy snack. I was able to use these almonds as an energy booster throughout the day! They also lasted me a long time, which is more than I can say for the mango slices...they were gone in one afternoon!

The organic mango slices were sweet with just a hint of tartness. They were dried slices that were easy to chew through--not tough or leathery at all. I really did eat a whole bag in one day because they were just too delicious to put down! What a treat to eat mangoes at work without any mess! These also only have one ingredient: Organic mango. Love that.

One of my favorite snacks is trail mix, so I was very happy to see that Vitacost also offered the Woodstock All-Natural Cascade Trail Mix. It contains unsulphured raising, roasted peanuts, dates with rice flour, papaya and sugar, pineapple and sugar, cranberries with sugar and sunflower oil, pumpkin seeds, and almonds. These ingredients together create a delicious, sweet and salty trail mix. It's also kosher!

Finally, we come to the Vitacare Whitening Gum. I received a pack in the cool mint + pomegranate flavor. This gum is sugar-free and gluten-free. It's sweetened with Xylitol, which we just adore at our house because it's sweet like sugar but actually works as a cleaner-of-sorts for your teeth! Unfortunately, I did not care for the flavor of the gum at all. The combination of the pomegranate and the cool mint did not do anything for me. To be fair, I am generally not a mint + fruit lover, so I also had some of my fellow grad students try it. It was not a hit. We all found that it lost flavor fairly quickly and became difficult to chew. So although this gum has a lot going for it, it didn't seem like the best option to me. I would certainly be interested in trying the other flavors, especially because I love the idea of a natural whitening gum with Xylitol.

Overall, I was very impressed by the snacks that I received from Vitacost. The Woodstock Farms brand has been a real success in everything that I tried. I can't thank Vitacost enough for offering such healthy and safe foods at good prices! Vitacost really does help with a healthy food diet!
