The National Federation of Roofing Contractors have announced the winners of their SkillBuild roofing competition for 2012.
The entrants, who specialise in constructing roofing, have been chosen from across the UK and will join the long list of high-skilled and professional entrants from previous years. The entrants with the highest scores will make the final in order to battle it out for a place in various roofing disciplines.
Finalists will meet at Preston College in Lancashire from the 12th-14th September and will be judged on winning categories such as slanting, tiling, sheeting and cladding, single ply and reinforced bitumen roofing.
Prior to making the roofing final, the candidates will have to get through the heats to compete or go through a selection process to ensure they meet the highest standard of roofing skills.
The competition will involve over 60 competitors from four different disciplines and will test their skills and capabilities with a grilling six-hour practical piece.
In order to complete the heats, building materials were provided by SIG Roofing, whilst the heats and selection process were arranged by the National Construction College, the Single Ply Roofing Association and colleges affiliated with NFRC.
