Star Kids Snack and Travel Tray: Great For Quiet Fun

Travel is one of our great joys!

We take road trips and cross-country flights many times per year.

But traveling can be hard on preschoolers, toddlers, and babies.

The Star Kids Travel Tray makes travel more enjoyable for kids and parents!

Check out the great features of the Travel Tray...

Right now my husband and I are on the East Coast going to school and most of our family lives in the West. We are also trying to take advantage of this time in the East to visit all the wonderful cities and historical sites here. However, travel with a toddler can get difficult. Little J. is a good traveler, but he often gets bored and restless on car trips. Airplanes are the worst, just because if he gets loud or rambunctious, he bothers other people. (See my post about calculating your carbon footprint and this post on how to offset your carbon footprint for free.)

It helps keep Little J. engaged without turning constantly to games on our smartphones or other electronic gadgets. Creativity and art are important things to foster in a child.

As soon as we opened the package, Little J. was super excited to use his new tray. He immediately took it to the couch and set it on his lap with a coloring book. He loved being allowed to color on the couch and I was impressed by the size of the tray itself and by the many pockets on the side flaps. Also great in the design is that the tray has raised edges so that crayons, puzzle pieces, snacks, etc. will not roll off into hidden places in the car (or couch). I would recommend taking the tray out of the pouch a while before you use it, as it comes folded in half. This crease down the middle was pretty big until the tray had a chance to puff up a bit. Now we store it unfolded so that we don't have that problem any more.

Also of note is the strap that can be used to hook the tray around a car seat or chair so that it is more secure. There are clips on both sides of the tray so that the strap can be fastened and adjusted from either side, which is very important when you are getting your little one into their carseat!
